How do I register for the auction?
All bidders must be registered with Eclipse Aviation. Please visit the Auction Registration webpage for information on registration requirements.
At what price does bidding begin?
Bidding begins at 95% of the current list price for the aircraft, plus option prices and CPI forecasted to time of delivery.
At what price have previous auctions closed?
This is Eclipse Aviation's second online auction. The first plane auctioned had a list price of $1,719,942. The winning bid was $1,833,945.
How do I place a bid?
If you have registered for the auction and made a $5,000 deposit, you can enter a bid by clicking on the Bid Now button. You always can increase your bid.
How do I increase my bid?
To increase your bid, click on the Bid Now button and enter a higher bid.
How is the winning bid determined?
Bids are sorted in order of price and time. The winning bid must meet or exceed the set Reserve Price.
What is a Reserve Price?
The Reserve Price is the lowest price at which a seller is willing to sell an item. If bidding does not meet or exceed the Reserve Price at the auction's close, there is no sale. The Reserve Price is not disclosed to bidders.
Why is my bid "losing" even when it is the current highest bid?
The seller has set a Reserve Price for this auction. If bidding does not meet or exceed the Reserve Price at the auction's close, there is no sale. An opening price may be lower than the Reserve Price. Accordingly, you may be the highest bidder but have not met the Reserve Price. The seller sets the Reserve Price, which is not disclosed to bidders.
What if my bid does not appear online after I place it?
Your new bid should appear as soon as you enter it. However, the auction site may take up to two minutes to refresh and reflect new bids. If your new bid does not appear, please refresh the webpage.
How can I view all of the bids I have submitted?
From the auction webpage, select My Auction Account. Submit your login information and then select Bidding Activity. On the search page, select ALL from the status option and click Submit. Your bids from the last 60 days should appear.
Can I submit a bid offline?
No. Only online bids can be submitted.
How will I know if my bid is no longer the highest bid?
Eclipse Aviation will send a notice to your registered email address if your bid is no longer the highest bid. Because there can be unpredictable delays in email transmission, Eclipse Aviation suggests that you regularly visit the auction website to check your bid status.
How will I know if I am the winning bidder?
Eclipse Aviation will notify you by email and phone. However, Eclipse Aviation suggests that you also check the auction website at the auction's close to determine if you are the winning bidder.
Will the $5,000 deposit be applied to the final purchase price?
Yes. The $5,000 deposit or Bidders' Club membership fee will be applied at the time of the final invoice.
Will the $5,000 deposit be refunded if I do not win the auction?
Yes. The $5,000 deposit is refundable at any time, less a $500 processing fee.
What is the Eclipse Aviation Bidders' Club and how many members are there?
The Bidders' Club was a program offered by Eclipse Aviation between May 2000 and August 2002. The program was designed to allocate a number of early delivery aircraft. Eclipse Aviation does not disclose the exact number of Bidders' Club members, yet there were more than 100 members when the original program opened.
How do Bidders' Club members register for the auction?
Existing Bidders' Club members are pre-registered by Eclipse Aviation. Members can go to the auction website and enter their Eclipse Customers Only website access login credentials. If you are unsure of your user name and password, please contact the Eclipse Aviation Customer Care team.
What are Eclipse Dollars?
Existing Bidders' Club members who joined between May 2000 and August 2002 accrue $1,000 Eclipse Dollars per month since the time they joined. Accrued Eclipse Dollars offer a discount on the final price at the time of the final invoice. For example, a Bidders' Club member who has accrued $50,000 Eclipse Dollars and, for example, wins the auction with a bid of $1,700,000 will pay $1,645,000 ($1,700,000 minus $50,000 Eclipse Dollars and the $5,000 Bidders' Club membership fee). Eclipse Dollars held by original Bidders' Club members range in value from $63,000 to $90,000.
What is the current value of my Eclipse Dollars?
Please contact Eclipse Aviation's Customer Care team at 1-877-350-0538 (1-505-724-1200 outside the United States) to confirm the value of your Eclipse Dollars.
Will my Eclipse Dollars automatically be reflected in the auction?
No. All bidders, including original Bidders' Club members, must bid at the full bid price. Eclipse Dollars are deducted only from the final invoice.
Can anyone view the online auction?
Yes.
Can anyone bid in the online auction?
Only registered bidders can place bids. Please visit the Auction Registration webpage for information on registration requirements.
How many aircraft will be auctioned?
Eclipse Aviation will post upcoming aircraft for auction on the auction website. Eclipse Aviation will email advance notification of upcoming auctions to all Bidders' Club members and previous auction registrants.
What are the anticipated delivery dates?
This information is provided when an auction is announced.
Where will the aircraft be delivered?
Your aircraft will be delivered at Eclipse Aviation's headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our Customer Care team will facilitate the delivery and will schedule your or your designee's participation in Eclipse Aviation's Type Rating Pilot Training program.
What does my aircraft purchase include?
The aircraft is equipped as described in the item listing. Also included is an aircraft warranty, an engine warranty and the tuition costs for one person – an owner or a designee – to participate in Eclipse Aviation's Type Rating Pilot Training program.
Can the winning bidder select additional options to be installed on the aircraft?
The aircraft will be sold as presented in the specification for the auction. Eclipse Aviation will be as flexible as possible to allow additional option choices. However, subject to availability of the selected option and manufacturing lead-times, there may be limited opportunity to choose additional options not listed in the specification for the auction.
What are the payment terms for the winning bidder?
The winning bidder must execute Eclipse Aviation's Aircraft Purchase Agreement, its Terms and Conditions and Exhibits, and must tender 100% payment of the final bid price (less deposit) by no later than seven (7) business days after the auction's close. If the winning bidder has accrued Eclipse Dollars, the value of these will be deducted as a line item credit from the final invoice. The $5,000 Bidders' Club membership fee or the $5,000 deposit also will be deducted from the final invoice.
How and when are taxes applied?
The winning bid price does not include any applicable federal, state, or local taxes. These will be included in the final invoice.
What happens if the winning bidder is unable to meet the payment terms?
The $5,000 deposit or Bidders' Club fee is forfeited in its entirety. The winning bidder's rights to purchase the aircraft are terminated. The winning bidder's ability to participate in future online auctions is revoked. Eclipse Aviation reserves the right to offer the aircraft to the next highest bidder or to re-auction the aircraft.
